The Mill
Three generations of olive growers, one way of understanding oil: honest, unhurried, rooted in the land of Montemiletto.
Everything begins with Don Raffaele, an olive grower from Montemiletto who tended his olives on the hills of Irpinia with the care of someone who knows that quality cannot be improvised. That passion has stayed alive, and his grandchildren - three brothers - decided to carry it forward: they took over and expanded the family olive groves, reviving a tradition that had been at risk of fading.
Production under the Frantoio Don Raffaele brand began in 2017. In 2023, the family-owned mill was built. Today the entire supply chain is in their hands: from the hand-held harvesting rakes in the groves to the bottling and labelling of every single bottle.

Three generations,
one passion.
Don Raffaele
Don Raffaele tended his olives on the hills of Montemiletto with the care and patience of someone who knows every tree by name. His days followed the rhythm of the olive trees: pruning, harvesting, caring for the land. It was not a business - it was a way of being in the world. That dedication has lingered in the air of these places, and that is where everything begins.
The revival
The three brothers take over the family olive groves, expand them and decide to turn that tradition into a serious project. The Frantoio Don Raffaele brand is born - a name that is, above all, a tribute. Production starts small, with olives harvested with hand-held rakes and milled quickly, pursuing from the outset the quality that would later earn the first international awards.
Our own mill
The mill is built: a step that changes everything. Having your own facility means not depending on third parties, being able to choose the exact moment of milling and controlling every variable in the process. Olives are processed within 8 hours of harvesting, at a controlled temperature, preserving aromas and polyphenols intact. The supply chain finally closes in full autonomy.
Complete supply chain
From hand-held harvesting rakes among the rows to the last hand-labelled bottle: every step is managed in-house, with no intermediaries. This total control is not a matter of pride - it is the only way to ensure that what reaches the bottle truly reflects the hills of Montemiletto. It is the same idea of quality that Don Raffaele had, taken further than he could have imagined.
Our
estate.
From tree
to bottle.
Our mill represents a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. While we scrupulously follow production methods handed down through generations, we also employ the most modern technologies and best agricultural practices to guarantee the highest quality and freshness of our extra virgin olive oil.
We manage the harvest of our olives on our own land with great rigour. During the oil campaign the pace is relentless and we ensure that the olives, once brought in from the fields, are cold-pressed within 8 hours of harvesting. The oil is stored in an environment suited to preserving its integrity, at a temperature appropriate for careful conservation.
Harvest
Olives harvested with hand-held rakes at the right stage of ripeness, for a vibrant fruitiness rich in polyphenols.
Milling
Pressing within 8 hours of harvest, at low temperature, to preserve aromas, freshness and polyphenols.
Separation
Cold extraction of oil from the olive paste, without the addition of hot water. The oil emerges in its purest form.
Bottling
Storage in stainless steel under nitrogen and bottling in small batches, away from light.
The hands
behind the oil.
Frantoio Don Raffaele is, above all, a family story. Everything begins with Don Raffaele - an olive grower who cultivated these hills with dedication and respect for the land. His three grandchildren then decided not to let that heritage go to waste: they took over the olive groves, expanded them and chose to build their own mill to resume the work in full autonomy.
Each has their own role - one in the field with the harvesting rakes, one at the mill, one following each bottle to the last label - but all share the same idea of quality: an oil that truly tells the story of the place it comes from.
Tastings
and guided tours.
We open the doors of the mill by appointment. You will be able to see the millstones, the separators, the stainless steel tanks up close - and understand why every process choice can be felt in the oil.
The guided tastings allow you to recognise the characteristics of Ravece - fruity, bitter, pungent - and to discover how to pair it in cooking.
